80 Round High Power Rifle Match

Match Dates: March 19, 2011; April 16, 2011; June 18, 2011; July 16, 2011; September 17, 2011; October 15, 2011; November 19, 2011.

Entry Fee: Individuals $15.00, Juniors $10.00, Seniors $10.00, Ladies $10.00 (includes club registration fee of $3.00 and NRA registration fee of $4.50). PWSA members receive a $3.00 discount.

Entries: Entries will be limited to 24 competitors and will close at 8:30 AM the day of the match. Advance entries will close the Friday before the scheduled match. Contact Match Director, listed below, for advance entry info.

Firing Starts: 9:00 AM

Conditions Governing Match

  1. RULES: This match will be governed by the rules prescribed by the National Rifle Association.

  2. OPEN TO: Everyone 16 years of age or older. The match director upon presentation of proof of the competitor's ability to handle a service rifle safely and complete the match course of fire may waive the age requirement.

  3. COURSE OF FIRE: The 80 round regional match course will be used. Competitors will fire 88 total rounds, 8 sighting shots and 80 shots for record, at a distance of 200 yards. Competitors will be allowed two sighting shots in a period of two minutes before each stage.

    First Stage: 20 shots for record slow fire in the standing position in 20 minutes. (SR target)

    Second Stage: 2 strings of 10 shots for record rapid fire in the sitting or kneeling position. Sixty (60) second time limit for each string with one reload. (SR target)

    Third Stage: 2 strings of 10 shots for record rapid fire in the prone position. Seventy (70) second time limit for each string with one reload. (SR 42 target)

    Fourth Stage: 20 shots for record slow fire in the prone position. (MR 52 target)

  4. RIFLES: NRA Service Rifle or NRA Match Rifle. Metallic sights. Rules 3.1, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.3, and 3.1.4 will govern subject to inspection and approval of the match director.

  5. CLASSIFICATIONS: All NRA classifications will be used.

  6. AMMUNITION: Any safe ammunition except tracer, incendiary, or armor piercing is permitted.

  7. AWARDS: Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each class. Classes with less than five shooters will be moved into the next highest class.

  8. DUTIES: Competitors will set and remove targets and will score and verify targets for adjacent competitors. The match director may assign other duties.

  9. GENERAL INFORMATION:

    There are restrooms at the range. Please bring your own drinks and food if desired.

    Participation in this match will satisfy the shooting requirement for purchasing surplus rifles from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.
